Ken Himma is currently working on his dissertation in the philosophy of law and hopes to finish his Ph.D. in early 1999. He has taught the following lower-division courses: Introduction to Philosophy, Philosophical Problems in the Law, Contemporary Moral Problems, Practical Reasoning, Environmental Ethics, Introduction to Social and Political Philosophy, Introduction to Theoretical Ethics, and Philosophy of Sex and Love. Publications include "Positivism, Naturalism, and the Obligation to Obey Law," Southern Journal of Philosophy, vol. 36, no. 2 (Summer 1998), 145-62; and "The Interpretation of Mill's Utilitarianism," History of Philosophy Quarterly, vol. 15, no. 4 (October 1998), 455-74. He received his M.A. from UCLA and his J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law.
