
Kenneth Einar Himma is an associate professor of philosophy at Seattle Pacific University. He received his Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Washington in 2001; his J.D. from the University of Washington Law School in 1990; and his M.A. from UCLA in 1987. He formerly taught in the Philosophy Department, Information School, and Law School at the University of Washington. His specialties are legal philosophy, philosophy of religion, applied ethics, information ethics, computer ethics, and other philosophical issues arising in connection with information and information technologies. He has taught a number of courses in philosophy, law, library and information sciences, and information management.
He has published numerous scholarly articles in legal philosophy, information ethics, applied ethics, and philosophy of religion and is on the editorial boards of the Journal of Information Ethics; Journal of Information, Communication, and Ethics in Society; International Review of Information Ethics; and INSEIT Annual Journal. He is an executive editor of the forthcoming IVR Online Encyclopedia of Jurisprudence, Legal Theory, and Philosophy of Law, which will be a major new resource in philosophy of law and legal theory. He has published many book reviews, encyclopedia entries, and op-ed pieces.

He is also a member of the APA Committee on Philosophy and Law and the Board of Directors for the International Society of Ethics and Information Technology (INSEIT).
