Welcome to per-IB - chemistry 2005/06 with Mr. Steidl

If you need to get a hold of me during the summer or next fall (e.g. letter of reference), please use my personal e-mail address as I'm not sure how long I will have access to my district e-mail.
usteidl@myuw.net

This website is designed as a resource for students and parents.  Lesson plans (often containing assignments and handouts), extra credit opportunities, HW solutions (not always), test dates etc will be posted on this site. If you miss class for any reason, it is your responsibility to find out what you missed.
DISCLAIMER:
The lesson plans are primarily written for ME and often a lot of extra explanation, examples and clarification is given in class.
Those plans are NOT intended to replace taking notes in class. They are not intended to even make sense to you without further explanation. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.
I try to have this website updated at least every other day, but no promises.

My contact information:
My e-mail is steidlu@edmonds.wednet.edu       office phone: 425-670-7311 ext 6098
This year I teach 1st, 5th, 7th, 4th and 8th periods.   I have 1st WP in F-206 (our classroom)
VERY helpful info for frosh / soph who are considering the full IB program.
This website shows you all the options and constraints you have in selcting your classes.
Please take a look at it before you register!!!. Ask me if you have any questions

Make sure you write the name of the lecture, and the date of the lecture on your paper.
Use this template for your write-up.
This time I let you chose your own topic. Go to any UW department website and look for events / seminars / lectures.
One place to start is the Program on the Environment calendar.
Town Hall Seattle Science Lectures [Downtown, co-sponsored by the UW, $ 5 :( ]
(warning: departmental seminars (e.g. analytical chemistry seminar, chemical oceanography seminar, etc.)
are intended for graduate students in that field and can be very difficult to understand)
Science related  lectures at other places  (Seattle U,  SPU, etc.) are ok as well. If in doubt ask me.
Deadline for turning in EC papers:  June 14th
I'd like to remind you about the academic honesty policy at this point. Do not risk a loss of credit for 10 points!!!
